On 12 June 1964, The Beatles greeted 300,000 Adelaideans from the Adelaide Town Hall balcony, the largest gathering they had attracted anywhere in the world. Adelaide’s long and proud history of music and love for live music is one of the many reasons why we are Australia’s only UNESCO City of Music. So, to celebrate, we’re hosting Adelaide’s own The LadyBeatles for an hour of Beatles hits right where it all happened exactly 6 decades ago! Whether you’re a lifelong Beatles enthusiast or a newer fan, The LadyBeatles promise a nostalgic trip of joyous rock’n’roll, fabulous musicianship, and fun that made the world fall in love with The Beatles.
Following the concert we’re excited to host authors Greg Armstrong and Andy Neill for an in-conversation chat about their new book When we was Fab: Inside The Beatles Australasian Tour 1964. Armstrong and Neill will take you backstage, giving you the scoop on what really went down during The Beatles' Australasian adventure. From crazy fan moments to private snapshots, this book serves up the ultimate backstage pass. Copies of the book will be available for purchase in the foyer before and after the concert.
